December 2004: Alpine rescue course. We practised avalanche rescue with the support of the Swiss Rescue Helicopter. A noisy affair (I am protecting my ears on the right)

November 2005: The first snow has arrived. Just north of Interlaken, the Trogenhorn, has tremendous views to the high peaks of the Bernese Alps. By Mountain Bike, and the last 500 meters on foot, this peak can be reached in about 4 hours.

September 2004: After 42.195 km and 2000 meters vertical rise, I finally reached the finish of the Jungfrau Marathon. The race starts in Interlaken and ends at the Kleine Scheidegg. See also www.jungfrau-marathon.ch

 

 September 2005: Lake Brienz

30. October 2005:  Morgenberghorn and lake Thun, Switzerland. It was a grand day out, together with my close friends, Hans and Rosmarie Grossen.

October 30: My best Swiss friends, Hans and Rosmarie on a beautiful afternoon just south of the Morgenberghorn. The Niesen and Aeschi can be seen on the background.

November 8: My brother Wim and I on the Axalphorn near Brienz.30. November: Winter has arrived! Last weekend the first snow and about 10 cm covers the mountains, more to come soon!

August 2005: Annemiek and Theo on the "Bluemlisalp" on lake Thun.

November 2005: Winter has arrived in Aeschi!! This view is just outside my village.

 

 

30 July 2005: This beautiful bench in memory of my beloved father, was inaugurated. Therese and lots of friends were there. Thank you Ole and Analena for this great gesture and donation!

16. October 2004: On top of Imja Tse 6189m, Nepal. This was the highlight of the trek trough the Khumbu region. Together with Wilhelm, Fred, Hans-Juerg, Urs, and with the help of a great team of Sherpa's and porters, I enjoyed this beautiful region.

24 September 2004: Finally I meet my foster child, Tenzin Dorjee, at his boarding school in Swayambhu, just outside Kathmandu, Nepal.
